Mussels on Toast with Dijon Butter

Ingredients

  • 1 tin Siesta Co. Mussels in Organic Pickled Oil
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 2 dashes Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Bread or toast, to serve

Instructions

  1. Make the Dijon butter. Mix the softened butter with the Dijon mustard and minced garlic in a bowl.
  2. Season. Add the Worcestershire sauce and season with salt and pepper. Stir until well combined.
  3. Assemble. Spread the butter on bread or toast, top with the mussels, and enjoy.

Ambrosia Anchovies with Oregano and Garlic

Ambrosia started in the Oreoi village of N. Evoia in Greece in 1928, producing exclusively salted fish. Over the years, they expanded its offerings to include canned tuna, sardines, anchovies, smoked fish, and other delicacies. Ambrosia's products reflect their dedication to producing high-quality, flavorful products that cater to both local and international tastes, embodying a rich heritage of Greek culinary excellence.

Pan con Tomate

Ingredients

  • 1 tin Ambrosia Anchovies with Oregano and Garlic
  • 1 slice rustic bread
  • 1 garlic clove, halved
  • 1 medium tomato
  • Seasoned oil from the tin
  • Finishing salt

Instructions

  1. Toast the bread. Toast a slice of rustic bread until crisp.
  2. Rub with garlic. Cut the garlic clove in half and rub the cut side over the warm toast.
  3. Add the tomato. Grate the tomato and spread a thin layer over the bread.
  4. Finish. Top with a couple of anchovies, drizzle with a bit of the seasoned oil from the tin, and sprinkle with finishing salt.

Conservas Santos crafts authentic Portuguese Sardines in Spicy Olive Oil, using traditional methods in Olhão, Algarve. Each tin contains fresh, hand-prepared sardines caught off the Portuguese coast, packed in spicy olive oil for a harmonious blend of delicate and bold flavors. These natural, gluten-free, and preservative-free sardines embody the culinary heritage of Portugal, offering a taste of authenticity and quality.

Sardine Tacos

Ingredients

  • 1 tin Conservas Santos Sardines in Spicy Olive Oil
  • Small corn or flour tortillas
  • Shredded cabbage or lettuce
  • Crema or sour cream
  • Lime wedges
  • Fresh cilantro and hot sauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. Warm the tortillas. Heat them briefly in a dry pan until soft and pliable.
  2. Flake the sardines. Break them into large pieces, reserving some of the spicy oil from the tin.
  3. Build the tacos. Layer cabbage or lettuce on each tortilla, add the sardines, and drizzle with a little of the reserved oil.
  4. Finish. Top with crema, a squeeze of lime, and cilantro or hot sauce if you like.
